Trent Lakes STRA renewal checklist (for 2027)
Submit between October 1 and December 15, 2026. Renewal fee: $250 (+ applicable taxes). Missing the window revokes your registration.
- Log in to Cloudpermit (Ontario → Trent Lakes → Licensing) and start the renewal before Dec 15. [By-law B2025-024 s.5.1]
- Complete the renewal application, including the owner's affidavit confirming no renovations or alterations that affect maximum occupancy, and no unpermitted work since registration. [s.6.1(a)]
- If renovations did change occupancy, get a completed Review of the Sewage System and municipal approval. [s.6.1(b)]
- Confirm your liability insurance is at least $2,000,000 and current. [Schedule B, item 15]
- Check that every listing (Airbnb, VRBO, Kijiji, your own site) shows your registration number. [Municipal STRA page]
- Check that the advertised maximum occupancy still matches your approved occupancy (2 per bedroom, limited by septic capacity).
- Post the current registration in a visible spot inside the dwelling. [Schedule B, item 16]
- Check your responsible person can still respond to complaints within 90 minutes. [Municipal STRA page]
- Pay the $250 renewal fee when invoiced. [By-law B2025-027]
- Keep a copy of the renewal and receipt with your tax records. CRA can deny STR expenses for non-compliant periods. [ITA s.67.7]
